My Review:
I would first like to start off saying that I just love this cover! I love all of Cyn Balog's covers, they are always so original and eye catching.
I have read all of Balog's books and have loved every single one of them but I think this one might just be my favorite.
I laughed so many times through out this story, the MC Gwen had such a great sense of humor and while it was self deprecating at times and did make me a little sad, it just seemed so real and so...her. It just fit her personality and was perfect for the story.
I think anyone in high school or even out of high school for that matter, can relate to Gwen. To always wanting to fit in and be part of the crowd yet knowing that being part of the "in crowd" isn't always a good thing.
I love how over time she comes to realize that just because she isn't a size 2 it doesn't mean that she isn't a great person and that she isn't beautiful. That there is so much more to life than that. I love that she has a fierce loyalty to those she loves and that those around her can see that and admire it and look past her weight issues.
I love her and Wish together and how they grow with one another and the changes that they both go through.
As always I love the slight paranormal aspect all Balog's books have but most importantly I think the characters are all just so loveable and down to earth that it is hard not falling in love with her writing and with them and becoming invested in what happens to them.
I really think this was a refreshing read. Something new and never before down and so very original. I love that and that is what will keep me always picking up Balog's books and looking forward to reading them all and wanting more when they are done.
